Careers & Opportunities

There's a route in here.
Whoever you are.

Experienced ecologist, recent graduate or career changer — if you care about wildlife and you're ready to learn the craft properly, we want to hear from you.

Tell Us About Yourself

We back people, and train them properly

This isn't a holding statement. One of our core field team came to us with no ecological background at all — earned their place through the same in-house training everyone here completes, and is now a valued member of our climbing operation. That's how this business was built: we back people, and we bring them up to the standard the work needs.

In-house training, funded professional development, the right equipment, and the chance to build a real career in ecology — not just seasonal survey work. We back the people who work with us because the work is better, and better quality, when they stay.

Employed, freelance or flexible — we work with your situation, not against it. What we ask for is commitment, genuine care for wildlife, and the willingness to learn the work properly.

Bat roost survey

Different starting points. Same standard.

We're not looking for one type of person — but everyone we bring on meets the same standard before client work. If any of these sounds like you, get in touch.

Experienced

Qualified Ecologists

Licensed bat surveyors, ECoW ecologists and field surveyors with protected species experience. We have consistent demand for bat survey work, ECoW deployment on infrastructure and construction projects, and climbing-qualified ecologists for aerial roost inspection.

Early Career

Students & Graduates

Studying or recently graduated in ecology, environmental science, biology or a related field? We offer real fieldwork, in-house training, and a grounded environment to build practical skills alongside your academic background.

Career Change

Career Changers & Returners

No ecology background but a genuine passion for wildlife? We've built part of this team from people who came to ecology sideways — and brought them up to the standard the work needs. The right attitude opens the door; our training does the rest.

Specialist

Climbing & Rope Access

If you hold climbing or rope-access qualifications — IRATA, arborist certification or equivalent — and want to apply them in an ecological context, we want to hear from you. The ecology can be taught; we'll build that side through our training to match your technical skill.

Training & Development

Every ecologist who works with us goes through rigorous in-house training before they work on a client survey. Not because it's required — because the work demands it and the wildlife deserves it.

Equipment Provided

You shouldn't have to fund your own kit to do your job. We equip our team properly.

Flexible Arrangements

Employed, freelance, or somewhere in between. We work with your situation.

Social Impact

We open routes into ecology for people who wouldn't otherwise find their way in — and develop them to the same standard as everyone else. The business was partly built on that principle, and it still runs on it: opportunity and quality, the same thing done properly.

Whatever Your Starting Point

Tell us a little about yourself — your background, what draws you to ecology, and what you're looking for. We read every message and we'll come back to you.
